MNL48 released the music video for the groups 7th single “NO WAY MAN” on April 1. The showcase event “No Way Man Live Watch Party,” was broadcast live on the group’s official YouTube page. The viewing began after the 16 selected members talked for 30 minutes.
The production started with the selected members who were chosen in the 3rd MNL48 general election held on February 20 last year. Intro begins from the back view of ABBY (24) wearing the crown, who was elected for the first time as No. 1. Intertwined with the dance scene on the rooftop helipad of a skyscraper and cut scene in a studio illuminated with blue, red, and purple lights. The MV kept the same sharp essence as the original AKB48 song, the version in which Sakura Miyawaki (24), who had just joined IZ*ONE at the time, played the center.
The 7th single, which had been on hold due to the new coronavirus outbreak, and the music video was the long-awaited new song, the first in 1 and half years since the previous song “RIVER “which was released on November 27, 2020.
ABBY leads the group as the new center. When Abby was elected for the 1st position in the general election, she said, “I am very happy. I’m really happy! To be able to play the center role in the 7th single and I am very excited to be leading the group as the center”.
As with the previous 6th single “RIVER,” the “Oshi Cam Campaign” was held again this time to select the top two members by fan votes in advance and release a special edited version of the music video focusing on the fan chosen 2. 1st place went to RUTH (23) and 2nd place to SHEKI (21). The “Oshi Cam” version of the video will be released soon.
