On October 21, BNK48 performed at the “Thailand-Japan Iconic Music Fest 2022” held in Bangkok, Thailand, announcing the joint event “AKB48 Group CIRCLE JAM 2023” on February 4, 2013.
AKB48 Group CIRCLE JAM 2023″ will be held on February 4 next year. The event will be held jointly with Japan Expo, one of the largest Japanese cultural events in Asia, which is held annually in Bangkok and attracts about 500,000 people, at the concert hall of the Central World shopping centre, the venue of the event.
After a long Corona disaster, AKB48 and its 48 sister groups from overseas will gather for the first time in 4 years. Bangkok hosted the AKB48 Group Asia Festival in January 2019, which was a great success, bringing together 48 groups from Japan and abroad for the first time in AKB48 Group history. In August of the same year, another festival was held in Shanghai, China. Both events drew a great sensation. Even with the Corona Disaster no longer able to travel overseas, the “AKB48 Group Asia Festival 2021 ONLINE” was held online in 2021, using Tokyo as its main hub.
This time, the event will be re-titled “AKB48 Group CIRCLE JAM 2023” and will be upgraded even further. An official said, “We are planning not only performances by each group but also special unit performances, etc. In keeping with the With Corona era, we will make it a special event that will be held both offline and online”.
The host groups will be BNK48 and CGM48, with AKB48 joining them to build excitement with the groups from the host country. The theme song is “Believers,” the 12th single released by BNK48 in August, a general election single sung by the top 16 members of the 3rd BNK48 general election held in April, with lyrics written by Nana Okada of AKB48 and choreography by Yuiri Murayama.
The group also plans to hold the TikTok exchange program that was held at the “AKB48 Group Asia Festival 2021 ONLINE” again. The members will post videos on the “akb48group_asia” account (@akb48group_asia) that follow the theme of the event.
An official Youtube channel for the event will also be launched in the future, with the host group’s BNK48 Captain Charplang and CGM48 Theater Manager Rina Izuta as navigators. The channel will be a place where AKB48 sister groups and members from Japan and abroad can interact with each other, discover new cultural differences and trends, and provide the latest information about the ongoing group and members.
