On the 22nd December, SGO48, which was based in Ho Chi Minh City, the capital of Vietnam, held a break-up concert at the VOH Music One Theater in Ho Chi Minh City. This was also the group’s last performance whilst marking their 3rd anniversary. Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the group decided to close the show for now.
“The Last Show – SGO48 GỬI LẠI THANH XUÂN (Memories of Youth)-“, the 3-hour concert was a complete success, with the members performing a total of 12 songs.
They opened the show with “Ponytail to Shu Shu” and continued with classic songs like “Heavy Rotation” and “Aitakatta” which got the crowd excited.
The eighth song, “ABCDEFA”, a new original song by SGO48, was performed for the first time. With such a shining performance by the members, the fans called out each member’s name one by one for the encore, giving them a final cheer.
Messages from AKB48 and its overseas sister groups were also screened, and Mr. Phat, CEO of YAG, the management company of SGO48, said, “I’ve been active in the Vietnamese entertainment industry for a long time, but I’ve never met such a passionate fan group before. Thank you so much. We apologize for not being able to meet everyone’s expectations. As the members begin their new journeys and go their separate ways, I believe that their enthusiasm for life will remain unchanged. To the members’ families and fans, I ask for your continued support for the members”.
SGO48’s captain Kaycee (24) also said, “Dear fans, thank you for supporting us for the past three years. It is because of you that we have been able to achieve so much. We will be going our separate ways from now on, but we would like to ask for your continued support in the future. Thank you all so much!” She expressed her gratitude to the fans.
