MNL48 to Visit Japan for Charity Marathon Event

On May 12, it was revealed that MNL48 will visit Japan for the first time in 2 and a half years for the “Manny Pacquiao Charity Marathon Tochigi 2022” to be held on May 22 at the “CITY FOOTBALL STATION” stadium in Tochigi. MNL48 will perform in a special live concert.

The charity event is organized by former professional boxer Manny Pacquiao (43), the only 8 division world champion in the history of boxing and, a national hero of the Philippines. Last December, Cebu island in the Philippines was hit by a large hurricane that caused extensive damage to the island, disrupting electricity and water infrastructure for several months. Pacquiao, who is now active as a politician and is well known and popular in Japan, launched this event to collect donations.

For the special live performance Sho Kiryuin of GOLDEN BOMBER, CYBER JAPAN DANCERS, and The Brow Beat, as well as 8 members from AKB48 including Nanami Asai, Kaori Inagaki, Saho Iwatate, Minami Sato, Ayana Shinozaki, Shinobu Mogi, Erii Chiba and Mizuki Yamauchi, is set to perform.

4 members from MNL48 are set to perform, with Sheri who performed duets with members of sister groups around the world on YouTube from late last year to early this year as well as AMY, JAN, and COLEEN, who have made their major debut in Japan with their 3-member unit “Baby Blue.

With SHEKI’s outstanding singing ability and Baby Blue’s unit songs well known to Japanese fans, there are high expectations for their first performance in Japan.
