On December 17, JKT48 held “JKT48 11th Anniversary Concert: Flying High Festival” at Marina Convention Center Semarang in Jakarta to celebrate the group’s 11th anniversary.
The year 2022 is the “10th Anniversary Year,” and under the theme of “NEW ERA,” the group has been working on a variety of projects.
In March, they started “Banzai JKT48,” a theatre performance with an original setlist. With 3rd-gen member Shani as the new captain, and 4th-gen member Jinan as the Vice-captain, the group released their 23rd single “Flying High” in June.The song was produced by world-renowned producers Matt Rad and August Rigo, who have produced songs for BTS and Justin Bieber and was a refreshing change of pace from the 48 Group’s previous music.
In June and July, JKT48 held its 10th-anniversary regional concert tour, “JKT48 10th Anniversary Tour,” visiting five venues on the island of Java. On August 6, “JKT48 10th Anniversary Concert HEAVEN” was held in Jakarta as the final concert of the tour, and was a great success.
The 11th-anniversary concert on this day was “Flying High” with the theme of “Showing a new side of JKT48,” 3,000 tickets were sold out immediately. Live streaming tickets were also performed with 10,000 tickets sold.
Starting with “Flying High,” which symbolizes this year’s event, a total of 33 songs were performed. There were many highlights, including “Aitakatta” and “Bingo!” performed by the 14 of the 11th-gen members who joined this year, and a new song “Green Flash” as an encore.
Melody JKT48 Shihainin also announced “theatre renewal” for next year, to start a new set list “Ramune no nomikata” and to “hold an individual Meet & Greet event”.
From that day until the 18th, “#JKT4811thAnnivConcert” was the number one trending topic on Indonesian Twitter.
Having reached a major milestone, JKT48 will continue to move forward next year.
