On August 6, JKT48 held its 10th anniversary concert titled “HEAVEN” at Istora Senayan in Jakarta, combined with graduation ceremony for Gaby (24), the last member of the 1st-gen. The 4,000 tickets were sold out within 20 minutes. Online tickets were also a huge success, with over 8,000 tickets sold.
First, the 10th anniversary concert began. The title of the concert, “HEAVEN,” was inspired by the desire to “make everyone who comes to see the concert to be happy. From the moment the curtain opened, a total of 122 people, including graduates, appeared on stage to perform the famous songs “Heavy Rotation” and “Ingin Bertemu – Aitakatta”.
The 1st-gen chose “Honestman,” followed by “Iiwake Maybe” going up to the 10th gen-members. From the midpoint of the performance, Zee (18) and Shani (23) sang a variety of solo songs, including “Bokura no Eureka” and “Menanti” respectively. The last song of the show was “Fortune Cookie yang Mencinta (Koisuru Fortune Cookie)” ending with “First Rabbit”.
On the other hand, “Only today” was performed in instrument showing the new face titled “JKT NEW ERA”, which had not been shown to the fans in the past live performances. This appearance of NEW ERA is a project that JKT48 is challenging to go beyond the boundaries of idols and become a true entertainer. Fans applauded the cool live performance by the members, whom they saw for the first time.
The second part of the event was the graduation ceremony for Gaby, the last member of the 1st-gen, who had been active in JKT48 for more than 10 years, sang “Yakusokuyo” and “Anatagaitekuretakara” as a solo to thank the fans. She left the stage saying, “Please continue to support JKT48”.
JKT48 has reached a major milestone, but they have not forgotten their dream. Their goal is to perform at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta’s open-air stadium. With big dreams, they will continue to move forward.
