Members of BNK48 and CGM48, who were in Japan for TIF 2022, made surprise appearances at the AKB48 Theater in Tokyo and NMB48 Theater in Osaka on August 10.
Jennis (22) and Pun (21) Tarwaan (25) of BNK48 and Aom (26) and Izurina (26) of CGM48 collaborated with the Mukaichi’s Team A for the song “Jyuryoku Sympathy” at the AKB48 Theater. At the end of the regular theatre performance, Team A Captain Mion Mukaichi (24) said, “What a surprise, we have special guests here! 5 members took the stage after the intro.”BNK48 x CGM48,” a Thai-language version of “AKB48,” was performed, to which Mukaichi responded, “You were so sharp! Everyone’s dance was so cool! Mukaichi praised the performance”.
AKB48’s Serika Nagano (21) asked, “Are the lyrics of this song about a famous place in Thailand?”, Izuta answered, “Just like ‘AKB48’ has names of places like Donki, BNK48 and CGM48 have names of places or foods”.
During the talk, Izuta also revealed that the members selected in the 3rd BNK48 general election in April had already filmed a music video (MV) in Japan.
Jenis was thrilled, saying in Japanese, “Imaha, yumemitai desu (I must be dreaming)”. Mukaichi remarked, “I hope we can go to Thailand when the situation settles down again. The 48 members from Japan and Thailand had a warm exchange.
Meanwhile, Cherprang (26) made a guest appearance at Team N’s “Mumu Raimai” performance at the NMB48 Theater in Osaka. As expected, at the end of the encore, Captain Karin Kojima (23) said, “I would like to perform one more song with a special guest who came from far away to join NMB48! We have cherplang from BNK48!”
NMB48’s hit song “Nagiichi” was performed together. Cherplang was moved with tears, she said in Japanese, “I’m so happy, I’ve wanted to come here for so long. She was a big fan of the NMB48 group and even came to see the graduation concert of former NMB48 ace Sayaka Yamamoto (29) from Thailand, in 2018 at the Expo’70 Commemorative Park in Osaka. So, the NMB48 Theater was a sacred place that she wanted to visit at least once.
ojima said, “It was a perfect ‘nagiichi’! Yesterday, we only had a one-day dance session (with me). What was even more surprising was that we danced and sang “Nagiichi” in Japanese. I realized she loved it and listened to it all the time! (She was a former NMB48 fan) just like me!”
Also, this time, as the captain of BNK48, Cherplang appeared in the “48 Group Captain Talk” on Karin Kojima’s official YouTube. When asked by Nagisa Shibuya (25), “Who is your favourite member?” Cherplang said “Sayaka Yamamoto. Right now it’s Kojirin! But today, everyone is my favourite!”
When it was revealed that she had also purchased a CD of NMB48’s latest single “Koi to ai to sono aidaniwa” (恋と愛とその間には) at Tower Records in Japan, Shibuya was pleased and said, “We want to go to Thailand and hand you the next new song in person.”
Both BNK48 and CGM48 received a warm welcome at both venues, and we look forward to more exchanges with Japan’s 48 groups in the future.
