On June 12 and 13, the “TIF ASIA TOUR 2022” Tokyo concert (3 performances in total) was held in Tokyo, with overseas AKB48 groups performing. On the 13th, held at Spotify O-EAST in Tokyo, BNK48 and CGM48 appeared via recorded video. AKB48 Team 8 also made an appearance.
In the “TIF ASIA TOUR AKB48 Overseas Sister Group Video Showcase” section, in addition to MC Ayane Fujisaki (Dempagumi. inc) and Moe Tsurumi (NIJI NO CONQUISTADOR), AKB48 Team 8’s Nagisa Sakaguchi and Narumi Kuranoo also made an appearance. To start with, a video of BNK48’s performance of “First Rabbit” at the “TIF ASIA TOUR 2022 in Bangkok” held on May 7 was shown.
Izurina (26), Fortune (22), and Sita (18) of CGM48 followed with a message VTR. Izurina thanked her fans and announced the release of the group’s 4th single “MAESHIKA MUKANEE”. Fortune explained, “We were able to show you a new side of ourselves and how we have grown into adults,” and showed an outdoor performance version of the track’s music video.
Sakaguchi and Kuranoo were also happy to see the excited audience with the song we were performing.
The talk was followed by an online broadcast connecting the Tokyo venue, BNK48’s Hoop and Paeyah’s, CGM48’s Izurina and Fortune.
Paeyah, who performed at the event for the first time this year with Izurina acting as her interpreter, said, “The fans were cheering and the mix was loud. There were many songs in the setlist that had us dancing the whole time, so there was a sense of unity”.
Fortune also asked AKB48 Team 8’s members Sakaguchi and Kuranoo for advice on live performance, a unique interaction that only sister groups can have.
Toward the end of the event, the 8 members of AKB48 Team 8 performed live at the same venue. They sang a total of six songs, including their latest single “Motokare desu”.
